Apply to Pitch

Every other month, we host a virtual Pitch Day where selected startups present directly to our Stanford alumni angel investors. We accept applications on a rolling basis and notify applicants when they are selected.

We look for seed stage startups with revenue and with customers either signed up or with a letter of intent.

Your deck should:

  • explain your product or service

  • outline go-to-market and sales strategy

  • analyze the competition and your advantages

  • address intellectual property protection

  • and include financial projections for the next two to three years along with details about your raise and valuation.

  • We prioritize startups with a Stanford alum or student on the team.

Cardinal Catalyst Prize

SAEM awards a prize to a startup that pitches at each SAEM pitch session. The prize will be awarded to one of the startups that pitches at each bi-monthly SAEM virtual Pitch Day. The winner receives recognition on the SAEM website and LinkedIn page, more opportunities to connect with angel investors, greater visibility among more than 1,600 SAEM members, and an award of $500.

Winners will be assessed based on key criteria:

  • An innovative and defensible product or service.

  • Strong commercial traction and a pathway to financial success.

  • A clear go-to-market strategy.

  • A standout team.

SAEM members who attend the virtual Pitch Day will vote for the top startup. The startup that receives the most votes will win, with the winner announced shortly after Pitch Day.
